Religious art to me, is about the journey we take to draw closer to God. The meaning of the scriptures is rarely a pure and total vision, definitive in it's message and instantly understood. Instead, God speaks to his prophets in dreams, visions, allegories, metaphors often asking them to seek the meaning. As they do, things become more clear, and they gain more meaning. 

These visions stick with us in their simplicity, simultaneously their images clear, but their meaning less like a photo and more like a dirty window with spots of clarity. We scrub and scrub, and the more we work, the more clarity we gain. 

That's what art is to me. I don't claim to have the answers. What you see is not a clear vision of knowledge, it is a record of the journey I am on to know God and myself.
